STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

DeMaio’s Incorporated has been providing quality environmental contracting, consulting and engineering services to a broad based cliental for over 30 years. In addition, DeMaio’s Incorporated is fully licensed under the NJDEP Underground Storage Tank Certification Program to perform all aspects of storage tank activities. DeMaio’s Incorporated maintains a staff of environmental professionals, including NJDEP certified Subsurface Evaluators, NJ Licensed Site Remediation Professionals, NJ Licensed Professional Engineers and NJ Licensed Well Drillers. All our field personnel have completed basic 40-hr. OSHA Health & Safety Training and, where relevant, OSHA Confined Space Entry Training.

STORAGE TANK CLOSURE

DeMaio’s Incorporated performs closure activities on all types of petroleum and chemical containment vessels, including underground and above ground storage tanks, state and federally regulated storage tanks and unregulated heating oil tanks. Since DeMaio’s Incorporated is fully licensed under the NJDEP Underground Storage Tank Program, we are uniquely qualified and fully experienced in assisting our clients in the application process for reimbursement of expenses under the NJDEP Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Upgrade and Closure Fund.

STORAGE TANK SERVICES

DeMaio’s Incorporated is equipped with an in-house Tank Testing Division capable of performing a wide range of storage tank testing services. Testing services include full underground storage tank tightness compliance testing, line testing, line leak detection testing, pressure decay testing and vapor recovery testing.





DeMaio’s staff of professionals includes Level 4 Certified Veeder Root UST Monitoring Systems Technicians who can provide various services pertaining to Veeder Root Monitoring Systems. These Services, including installation, proper system startup, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs and anything in between.






In addition, DeMaio’s Incorporated performs maintenance and upgrade activities on existing storage tank systems to include proper cleaning, relining, tank top upgrades and the installation of passive and active cathodic protection systems.

TANK INSTALLATION SERVICES

Residential and commercial above ground and underground storage Tank (AST and UST) installations have long been an important facet of DeMaio’s Incorporated’s scope of services.

All work is performed by field technicians who are fully trained and certified in the latest installation techniques utilizing state of the art materials.




Our commercial installations include tanks and piping for dispensing gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, heating oil, motor oil and the collection of waste oil.








DeMaio’s wide range of experience includes the full system design and installation of petroleum-based product systems at gas stations, auto dealerships, service centers, and marinas.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES

Many of DeMaio’s environmental professionals are NJDEP certified Subsurface Evaluators, NJ Licensed Site Remediation Professionals, NJ Licensed Professional Engineers and NJ Licensed Well Drillers.

Our certified Subsurface Evaluators have developed an expertise in obtaining NJDEP-issued “No Further Action Letters,” at the completion of an appropriate site investigation and or remedial investigation / action through the NJDEP Unregulated Heating Oil Tank Program.
















Our NJ Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRP) develop and supervise an appropriate remedial action for various types of sites and environmental areas of concern which include industrial sites, regulated underground storage tanks and many other types of environmental impacts. After the appropriate investigation and or remedial action is performed, our LSRPs issue a “Response Action Outcome” to our clients when it is the professional opinion of the LSRP that the site or area of concern meets the NJDEP Technical Requirements.

Our NJ Licensed Professional Engineers employ appropriate engineering practices when designing remedial action technologies, underground storage tank systems and many other construction applications.




DeMaio’s Incorporated performs Preliminary Assessment / Site Investigation activities at project sites and specific areas of concern to determine if environmental impacts are present. DeMaio’s has performed PA/SI activities at various project sites including but not limited to Industrial Sites, Underground Storage Tank Areas of Concern, commercial properties and manufacturing facilities.



If PA/SI activities reveal contaminants at a site or specific area of concern, which are above the applicable NJDEP remediation standard, DeMaio’s can perform full remedial investigation activities to include determining the vertical and horizontal extent of contaminants in all media, determining the potential or actual impact of contaminants on sensitive human and ecological receptors and to provide information necessary to implement and appropriate remedial action for the project site.

DeMaio’s environmental professionals perform a variety of in-house subsurface investigative operations using the latest drilling technology available in the industry. DeMaio’s utilizes Geoprobe direct push equipment to collect undisturbed soil core samples and delineate the vertical and horizontal extent of soil and groundwater contamination at a site or specific area of concern. Geoprobe equipment is also used to install small, temporary well points for collecting groundwater samples.



Accurately delineating a plume of contamination prior to remedial action activities can result in more reliable cost estimating, enabling private or commercial clients to develop an accurate project budget. Our equipment is capable of advancing vertical or angle borings to obtain samples below immovable obstructions.







DeMaio’s NJ Licensed Well Drillers also employ a variety of techniques when installing monitoring wells, including the use of hollow stem augers and portable equipment in limited access situations.










When Site Investigation (SI) and Remedial Investigation (RI) activities have been completed, DeMaio’s Incorporated will determine an appropriate remedial action, which may include excavation, dewatering, “pump and treat” and in-situ remedial actions. In-situ remedial actions include the use of biological injections, oxygen releasing compounds and chemical oxidation methodologies.





Groundwater Remediation activities include regimented pumping events and/or ground-water processing through our custom designed groundwater remediation trailers which can be immediately mobilized to any project site.

STRUCTURAL SUPPORT

In situations where soil contamination exists beneath a building, or where excavation against a foundation would compromise the integrity of a structure, DeMaio’s Incorporated is fully certified to install Chance Helical Piles© to support residential and commercial structures during the remediation process.





The Chance Helical Pull down Micropiles© offer an economical means of structural support when conventional methods of remediation are not effective. Our crews are fully trained in the installation and utilization of all Chance system equipment designed for this application.
